I am a 1984 graduate of Maquoketa High School and returned to my hometown upon my college graduation (Grand View University). I was a teacher/administrator/activities director/coach for 33 years all in Maquoketa. I coached HS football for 33 years and served as the head coach for 15 years. I have also coached wrestling, track and field, baseball and golf.
I retired from education in 2022. Jesus has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. With my four older brothers, we literally grew up in our church. I've always wanted to be more involved with my church but due to my job and the number of activities and hours that I put in, it was very difficult to be actively involved outside of the weekend service. I knew that when I retired, God was calling me to become more involved with discipleship. In 2012, with the help of Dan Pearson, I started an FCA Huddle at Maquoketa. Upon retirement, Tim Schneckloth reached out to me and asked me to start praying and considering an opportunity to join FCA as a Field Ambassador.
